Terms of service

Practice Wire is operated by Clarity Business Intelligence Limited. By using this website you agree to these terms.

Who we are

This website is published and operated by Clarity Business Intelligence Limited ("we", "us"). References to the site mean Practice Wire and all of its pages, feeds and services.

Using the site

You may read, link to and share our published stories for personal and internal business use. You may not republish substantial parts of the site, scrape it at scale, resell access to it, or use it in any way that damages the site or interferes with other readers' access.

Editorial content is not advice

Everything published here is journalism and commentary about how law firms are run. It is not legal, financial, regulatory or professional advice, and it should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a qualified adviser about your own circumstances. Where a story links to an external source, that source is provided for reference only.

Submitting a story

When you submit an article, image, logo or author details through the submission form you confirm that you are entitled to supply that material, that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, that it is accurate so far as you are aware and that it is not defamatory or misleading.

You keep ownership of what you submit and grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to edit, publish, distribute and promote it on the site and in our channels. Submission does not guarantee publication: every piece goes through editorial review and we may edit for accuracy, length, clarity and house style, or decline it. We may also unpublish material where there is a factual, legal or rights concern.

Fees, advertising and sponsored content

Some placements, including supplier insight articles and display advertising, are paid. Fees, formats and duration are agreed before publication and are payable in accordance with the invoice or order confirmation. Paid and sponsored placements are identified as such where required. Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their own material, and appearance of an advertisement is not an endorsement.

Intellectual property

The design, branding and original editorial content of the site belong to Clarity Business Intelligence Limited or its licensors. Contributor logos, images and trade marks remain the property of their owners and are used with permission.

Accounts

Editorial accounts are for named individuals authorised by us. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity carried out under your account. We may suspend or remove access at any time.

Availability and liability

We aim to keep the site available and accurate but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clarity Business Intelligence Limited is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business or goodwill, arising from use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always published here. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
